MAA Artist's Work

Beverly Abbott, MAA Member since 2008
2008-2012 MAA TE Work: "White Pelicans Resting on a Sandbar", 4.2 x 10.7 centimeters, 1⅜ x 4¼ inches
Medium: Oil on Ivorine

Biography: Beverly Abbott is a signature member of the Miniature Artist's of America. She has memberships in the Miniature Art Society of Florida, Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington, DC and the American Miniature Artists. She is listed in Marquis' Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World. Her work is exhibited at the Seaside Art Gallery, Nags Head, NC (www.seasideart.com). More work is available at the Stanford University web site (www.artist-registry.stanford.edu). Traveling to gather inspiration and resource material is a favorite pastime.

In past years, Bev bred, trained and showed her Miniature Shorthaired Dachshunds. Through that interest she has illustrated several books about dogs. While her subject matter deals mostly with the animal kingdom, she enjoys the challenge of a change of subject matter. Oil paint is her favorite medium for its soft buttery feel, rich color and translucent quality when painted on Ivorine.
