Biography: Michael W. Coe is a self-taught, full-time artist. He started painting watercolour miniatures in 1992.
He is a member of the Hilliard Society of Miniaturists and was elected a full member of the Royal Miniature Society in 1996. He is also an invited member of the Miniature Artists of America, the Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington D.C., and a member of the Miniature Arts Society of Florida, exhibiting regularly at their annual exhibitions.
He has also exhibited at several Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition in London.
Amongst his awards are:
•'Mundy Sovereign Award' for Portraiture, Royal Miniature Society, 1993
•'Bell Portrait Award' at the Hilliard Society Annual Exhibition, 1993 and 2005
•'Gold Memorial Bowl Award', Royal Miniature Society, 1998
•'Best of Show' at the Miniature Arts Society of Florida, 1998
•Award for his exhibit at the World Exhibition of Miniature Art in Tasmania, 2000
•'First' in Portraiture at the Washington MSPGS Annual Exhibition, 2004
