Biography: Rosalind (Roz) Pierson began painting 'small pictures' while still at school, and she continued to do so as a hobby while she studied at the Ruskin School of Drawing & Fine Art, Oxford. The hobby brought her success in 1974 when one of her miniatures was hung at the Royal Academy, London in the 'Summer Exhibition'.
Annual one-man shows followed on from art school and within a few years the exhibitions consisted entirely of miniatures. She was elected to full membership of the RMS in 1979 and as an associate member of the Societé des Artistes Français she exhibited at the Paris Salon, winning a gold medal in 1981.
In 1981 she held a one-man show at the Burwood Gallery, Wells run by Sue Burton, and their association led to the formation of the Hilliard Society in 1982.
Rosalind specializes in watercolor, featuring the landscape of the beautiful scenery around her home in Devon.
